Elopement in Olden, Norway

There are places that seem to have been designed specifically for vows of love. Olden, in Norway, is one of them. A silent fjord, light that lingers between sky and water, and a couple who came all the way from the United Kingdom, ready to venture off the beaten path for a morning.

Their day began on a quiet dock, with the mountains as witnesses and the murmur of the water as music. There, far from ruffled dresses and air-conditioned reception halls, they said “I do” simply, intensely, just for the two of them.

And then we took the cable car. All the way to the top. All the way to the horizon that stretches across all of Norway. It was there, on that isolated headland where the wind carried their words farther than any microphone ever could, that they renewed their vows. Raw nature as their only backdrop. Authenticity as their only rule.

Olden is for those who prefer freedom to convention. This wedding was genuine, lively, a little crazy—everything a beautiful story should be. Having arrived from a cruise ship, this English couple didn’t come to Norway just to get married. They came to experience something. And that’s exactly the kind of story I love to tell through images.

Thinking of getting married in Norway? I highly recommend hiring a local wedding planner. For this wedding, the team at Brudepikene orchestrated everything with remarkable grace.

Cecile was amazing from start to finish. She was so flexible and was also great at coming up with ideas for our wedding in Norway. You can see the passion straight away and the amount she loves photography and capturing love shows with how much care she takes before, during and after the wedding! The photo album we received after the wedding was absolutely beautiful and like nothing I’d seen before and we love all our pictures. We also asked for a video which is a lovely memory for us to have. Thank you so much Cecile and good luck with everything! 🥰
